Sophie (Zdunek) Soriano Obituary (1927

Sophie Soriano, 96 , of West Mayfield, passed away on Sunday November 26, 2023 in her home, surround by her loving family. Born on April 6, 1927, in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Mary Ann (Mihlowski) Zdunek. Sophie was a banquet room waitress at the Holiday Inn and was also a member of the former St. Philomena Roman Catholic Church currently St. Augustine's Roman Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Soriano, Sr.; brothers, Leo and Zig Zdunek; and sister, Gennieve "Jenny" Orosz. Sophie is survived by her son, Roger Edward Jr. (Marian) Soriano, of Annapolis, Maryland; daughters, Linda Vono, of West Mayfield, and Debbie Ann (Philip) Fatula, of Patterson Heights; six grandchildren Kim and Lou Swoager, Gretchen and Jordon D'Atri, Sam Fatula, Sarah Souza, Jennifer Barber, and Jon Henderson numerous great-grandchildren, a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Eleanor Soltesz and Robert Phillips, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received on Friday from 2-5 PM in the HILL AND KUNSELMAN FUNERAL HOME, INC.-3801 4TH Avenue, College Hill, www.hillandkunselman.com, where prayers will be recited Saturday at 9:20 AM. A Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10 AM in the St. Augustine's Catholic Church ( St. Monica Parish) Roman Catholic Church- 116 Thorndale Drive, Chippewa Township. Interment will take place in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville, PA.
