Robert J. "Bear" Stanley Obituary (1949

Robert J. "Bear" Stanley, 62, of White Township, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012 in the Butler VA Medical Center. Born May 17, 1949 in Beaver Falls, he was the son of Lois C. Bonneau Stanley of Beaver Falls, and the late William C. Stanley who died in 1991. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and had been employed with the family business, Stanley Tree Service, working with his father and brother. He had been a construction worker with the Laborer's Union, Local No. 833. He was a member of the Beaver Falls American Legion, Post 261, West Mayfield Veterans of Foreign Wars, Life Member of the New Galilee VFW, Post 8106, Beaver Falls Owls, and the Beaver Falls Elks, B.P.O. E. 348. He enjoyed hunting in East Brady, Armstrong County and fishing with his buddies, Danny Jaycox and Rick Doolittle. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a nephew William F. Stanley, Jr. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Shawn R. and Stephanie Stanley, Middleton MD, Timothy P. Stanley, Beaver Falls, a granddaughter, Ella Stanley, Middleton, MD, a brother and sister-in-law, William F. Sr., and Joyce Stanley, Enon Valley, a niece Jamie Stanley King, Enon Valley, a great niece and her husband, Ashley and Ryan Owens, East Palestine, OH, and a great nephew, William M. Stanley, Enon Valley. Friends will be received Tuesday from noon until 3 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com., 3801-4th Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls. The Veterans Honor Guard will conduct a military service at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
