Muriel J. Frieler-Rozmus Obituary (1925

Muriel (Jerome) Frieler-Rozmus Muriel was born February 11, 1925, in Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, she passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Life is a living work of art with its many hues, subtle shading, and bold vibrant colors. Muriel painted her life's canvas with muted, loving tones of grace and elegance, patience, and compassion. Muriel loved to travel, spanning the globe, visiting all the continents except Africa and Antarctica. One of her favorite places was Fiji, with its lush vibrant sunrises and sunsets along with the beautiful blue hues of the ocean and its friendly and festive people. She loved Hawaii and traveled there often. She said it was one of God's most beautiful works of art. She was a kind and generous person who gave freely to those in need, especially to the Disabled American Veterans and various food banks within the community. Muriel was a very talented and creative person. She added to her life's canvas designing and creating greeting cards. Her many friends and relatives looked forward to receiving her colorful and beautiful birthday and holiday creations. She made beautiful quilts, belonging to the Peace Makers for many years. She also shared her talents with Care Wear, and Sew Many Blessings, who sew for the soldiers serving abroad. She painted broad majestic strokes with her active community involvement. Muriel served in many leadership positions belonging to the Beaver County Kindergarten Association, and the Business and Professional Women, serving as past president of each organization. She was a past Vice-President of the Outlook Club, American Association of University Women, and Geneva Women. She served on the Women's Council of the Merrick Art Gallery; she held a seat on the Alumni Board of Geneva College and was a past member of the board of Trustees at Chippewa United Methodist Church. Muriel was a past member of the Community Concerts Board, serving as publicity chairperson. She was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma, (Theta Chapter), an honorary educational Society serving the needs of women in education. She was also a member of the Little Beaver Historical Society and Historic Society of Beaver. Muriel was an active member of the Steffin Hill Presbyterian Women's Bible Study, cherishing the love for these women and the varied hues they brought to her life. Her love for God illuminated the pallets by which she lived her life. Muriel loved books and learning, which had a great influence on how she planned the works of art that were to become her road map throughout her life. Muriel was an honor graduate of New Brighton, after graduation she matriculated to Geneva College at the tender age of fifteen, majoring in pre-med with an eye towards medical research. With the onset of World War II, medical schools were filled with men preparing to enter the war effort. She switched her major to education, graduating with honors. While at Geneva she was active in the Genevans and the dramatic arts. Upon graduation, Muriel taught in East Liverpool, Ohio, Hopewell, West Mayfield, and New Brighton School Districts with over 25 years of dedicated service to education. Muriel was a strong woman who gave much to many and asked for little in return, she knew how to be a great friend. She had an infectious sunshine smile, a great sense of humor, and a kind word for everyone. One can even say she worked hard, played hard, and touched the hearts of many with a lasting impression on all who knew her. She truly was an elegant lady. Her canvas is complete, what a masterpiece! Well done my good and faithful servant. Her work of art was greatly influenced by those predeceasing her, parents, G.R. (Mable) Jerome, a brother, Albert Keith (Jerome) Digeralamo, and her beloved sister, Yolanda (Jerome) Kreshon. Her very loving and wonderful first husband Homer A. Frieler, and her second husband, Frank Rozmus, both of whom brought her great joy and happiness. Muriel is survived by her wonderful son and daughter-in-law Allen (Theresa) Frieler, and a daughter who adored her, Rebecca J. Frieler. Granddaughter, Rebecca Lynn (James) DeLisio whom she loved beyond measure, two Great-Granddaughters Abigail Paige DeLisio and Madeline Olivia DeLisio, whom she adored, and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be on Wednesday, September 6th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Hill and Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com , 3801 Fourth Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls. A funeral service will be held Thursday, September 7th at 10:30 a.m. at the Chippewa United Methodist Church, 2545 Darlington Road, Beaver Falls.
