Lynn A. (Baird) Farkas Obituary (1953

Lynn A. Farkas, 61, of Darlington Twp., passed away January 8, 2015 in Good Samaritan Hospice at Heritage Valley Beaver. Born June 29, 1953 in Sewickley, she was the daughter of Joanne (Ewing) Baird and the late William Baird, of Center Twp. Lynn was a devoted wife, proud mother, loving grandmother and friend to anyone with whom she came in contact. She held many jobs over the years, but for the past 14 years, she's entertained the staff and students of Northwestern Primary School as a lunch lady. Lynn was an active member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Darlington, where she served in many capacities including custodian, VBS and Sunday School teacher, funeral dinner coordinator and reception director. She greatly enjoyed gardening, camping, reading, making sure people were well-fed, taking summer trips with her husband, listening to oldies radio and cheering on her beloved Pittsburgh sports teams, especially the Steelers. She leaves behind loving husband of 41 years, Edward Farkas; daughters Melissa (Chad) Crawford and Rachel (Chris) Wagoner, both of Darlington Twp; sons Sam Farkas, of Beaver Falls, and Brian (Marie) Farkas, of South Beaver Twp; grandchildren Michael (Courtney) Drabick, Meghan and Mason Crawford; brothers Bill Baird, Rick (Karen) Baird, Bob (Robin) Baird and Kevin (Brenda) Baird; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 & 6-8PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801-4th Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls. Additional visitation will held Tuesday from 9 AM until time of service at 11 AM in the funeral home , with Pastor C. F. Hoffman officiating . Due to Lynn's dislike of funeral flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made instead to one of her two favorite organizations: First United Presbyterian Church of Darlington or Darlington Township Volunteer Fire Department.
