Lauretta "Red" (Lewis) Mcconahy Obituary (1928

Lauretta "Red" McConahy, 86, of Beaver Falls died January 17, 2014 in her home. Born January 8, 1928 in Zelienople, was the daughter of the late John Jay & Lauretta Clare ( Majors) Lewis. She 1st retired from the City of Beaver Falls as a meter maid, then former Babcock & Wilcox company as a security guard, and finally from Divine Mercy Extended Day Care, where she was affectionately know as "Grandma Cupcake". She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church, Beaver Falls, Wenonah Chapter O.E.S No. 124, B.P.O Elks #348, Beaver Falls; Ellwood City VFW Ladies Auxiliary; Ellwood City Moose Club Ladies Auxiliary; Beaver Falls American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Ellwood City Saxon Club. She is survived by a daughter Kathy Adams, Beaver Falls; three sons &daughters-in-laws Kenneth J. & Linda McConahy, DE; Donald G. & Margaret McConahy, Beaver Falls; and Brian E. McConahy, South Beaver Twp. Nine grandchildren Jennifer Biondi, Dana Truman, & Kimberly ( Matt) Perry, all of DE; Philip & Melissa McConahy, both of Beaver Falls, Daniel (Carrie) McConahy, Butler; Lisa (Bart) Sattler, Brighton Twp.; Jonathan & Meghan McConahy, both of South Beaver Twp. 8 great grandchildren Marissa & Crystal Truman, E. J Biondi, Taylor Perry, Brook Biondi, Jessica Perry, Kyle McConahy and Hunter McConahy. A sister Betty Bender, Enon, OH and a brother Walter ( Janet) Lewis, Castlewood, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth McConahy, May 3, 2005; a daughter-in-law Amanda McConahy, a sister Irene Ruhe and two brothers John & Eddy Lewis. Friends will be received Monday from 2-4 & 6-8PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801-4th Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls, PA 15010. Where a service will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Dr. Daniel Stinson officiating. Interment will follow in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver Boro. Members of Wenonah Chapter O.E.S No. 124 will meet at the funeral home Monday at 7:00PM to conduct a service for their late sister.
