Kathleen (Stopp) Cockerham Obituary (1923

Kathleen (Stopp) Cockerham South Beaver Township Kathleen (Stopp) Cockerham, 95, of South Beaver Township, died Saturday, September 22, 2018 in Heritage Valley Beaver. Born July 21, 1923 in Charleroi PA, and grew up in Steubenville, Ohio. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Ida Rice Stopp. She was a member of St. Monica Parish and the Ladies Guild at the church. She had taught elementary school in Pittsburgh before her marriage and subsequently had been employed at E.C. Wagoner and Sons Greenhouse in Chippewa Township. She had also been a member of the South Beaver Township Grange and the South Beaver Township Garden Club. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Cockerham on December 8, 2010, two grandsons, Aaron Paul Howell, David Cockerham, a granddaughter, Angela Money, a daughter-in-law, Penney Cockerham, five sisters and a brother. She is survived by six children, Sister Alexine Cockerham, Pittsburgh, Kathy Howell, South Beaver Township, John Cockerham, Kingsland, GA, William and Terri Cockerham, Jewitt City, CT, Carol and Daniel Haggerty, North Myrtle Beach, SC, and D.J. and Mark Orr, North Myrtle Beach, SC, 13 grandchildren, 18 great- grandchildren, a great-great-granddaughter, and a sister, Joan Jones, St. Louis, MO, and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com. 3801 Fourth Ave., College Hill, Beaver Falls, where prayers will be recited on Thursday at 9:20 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. in St. Monica Church, 116 Thorndale Drive, Chippewa Township with Father Bill Schwartz as celebrant. Private interment in Grandview Cemetery, Big Beaver. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made, if desired, to Sisters of Divine Providence, 9000 Babcock Blvd., Allison Park, PA 15101.
