Katherine "Kay" C. (Cleary) Stevens Obituary (1930

Katherine "Kay" C. Stevens, age 90 of Chippewa Township, died Tuesday, February 23 in Franciscan Manor after a brief battle with cancer. Born September 20, 1930 in Beaver Falls, she was the daughter of the late Dennis & Jeanette (Hoyt) Cleary. She graduated from Beaver Falls High School in 1948 and attended Geneva College upon graduation. She was a member of the Chippewa United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women's group. She was always interested in helping others and volunteered her time to several organizations; Beaver Falls soup kitchen, American Red Cross, Carnegie Library and Providence Care Center. She especially enjoyed her time at Providence where for nearly 30 years she delivered coffee and tea to the residents. She was a former member of the Blackhawk Football Mothers and actively supported Blackhawk athletics. She enjoyed reading, gardening and cheering on the Steelers and Penguins. She is survived by her four children and their spouses, Sandi (Stevens) Totera and Fred, Beaver Falls, Mark Stevens and Bonnie, Pittsburgh, Bruce Stevens and Eileen, Beaver Falls and Craig Stevens and Mary, Moon Township; two grandchildren and their spouses, Tiffany (Totera) Diaz and Ben, Chicago, IL and Brad Stevens and Cari, Pittsburgh, one great grandchild, Lukas Stevens, one sister in-law, Fern Cleary (Fla.) and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Paul V. Stevens, 2017 and four brothers William, Thomas, Lynn and Howard Cleary. Katherine's wish was to be cremated. A private service was held for her family. The family would like to thank Franciscan Manor and Kindred Hospice for their compassionate care given to Katherine.
