Joseph I. Omogrosso Obituary (1955

Joseph I. Omogrosso, 56, a lifelong resident of College Hill, died unexpectedly Friday April 15, 2011 in Heritage Valley Beaver. Born March 14, 1955 in Beaver Falls son of Violet ( Vrankovich) Omogrosso and the late Joseph "Smokey" Omogrosso. He was a graduate of Geneva College 1988 where he received a BS in Mathematics. He retired from the Oakland High School as a math teacher. Member of Beaver County Umpires Association for baseball & softball, he ran the time clock for both the girls & boys basketball games and for the football games for Beaver Falls, an avid golfer and golf coach for Monaca High School. He was a member of St. Philomena Parish, and a member of the Beaver Falls Turners. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 32 years Mary Ellen ( Romigh) Omogrosso, A daughter Crystal Omogrosso , a son Joseph Nicholas Omogrosso, a special grandson Jayden Caracter, all of Beaver Falls. 2 brothers & 2 sisters, Rudy Vrankovich, Natalia ( Boyd) Blinn, Mark Omogrosso, and Dorothy Kachur. Brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Diana Romigh, Michael (Julienne) Romigh, Christopher Romigh, Robert(Tracy) Romigh, and Molly Romigh . A special friend Kelly Edel and numerous nieces & nephews. In addition to his father he was preceded in death by a brother Nicholas Vrankovich. Friends will be received Sunday from 12-4 & 6-8 PM in the Hill & Kunselman Funeral Home, www.hillandkunselman.com, 3801-4th Avenue, College Hill, Beaver Falls, where prayers will be recited Monday at 9:30Am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Philomena Parish, 3908-6th Avenue, Beaver Falls. Rev. Fr. James Farnan will be the Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery, New Brighton.
