Edward Futato

Edward Franklin Futato, 93, of Hilltop Retirement Community in Johnson City, New York, formerly of Patterson and North Sewickley township, passed away peacefully October 10, 2026, at Elizabeth Church Manor, Binghamton, NY.

Born May 24, 1933, in New Brighton, Pennsylvania, he was the son of the late John Sr. and Anna (Kadlecz) Futato. He was a graduate of the New Brighton High School. Shortly after graduation he was drafted into the US Navy. Edward dedicated his career to the New Brighton Post Office, where his friendly demeanor and commitment to service made him a cherished postal worker. He was a member of the Blue Lodge in New Brighton and was a 32nd Degree Mason. He was a life-long member of the First Baptist Church in New Brighton. He was active in the Workers for Christ class and served as a deacon and as Chairman of the Board.

He is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Gracann (Thomas) Yard, Endicott NY; grandson, Jonathan Yard (Sarah Jane Hammer), Manlius NY; great granddaughter, Reiss Elizabeth; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Parris Futato, whom he married June 18, 1960, and passed away on June 10, 2009; brothers & sisters, Barbara Kloos, John Jr., Grace Gossard, Alexander, Joseph, Steven, Rudolph, Margaret Wells, and James.

A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 10 am at First Baptist Church, 315 8th Street, New Brighton, PA 15066. The funeral service will start at 11:30 am.
